Unveröffentlicht

Continuing with the catching-up, today I'd like to tell you about "Unveröffentlicht", an exhibition of unfinished German comics that I was part of in late 2021.

At the exhibition, I showed pages from my never-finished, unpublished mystery graphic novel “Die Anstalt”, which I co-wrote with Roman Senkl in 2010. I handed in the first ~25 pages of the book as my bachelor thesis back in the day, but the project was a bit more ambitious than Roman and I were able to handle while also working other jobs, so we eventually abandoned it.

Sadly I could not attend the exhibition, but Moritz Stetter, whose comics were also part of the exhibition, took these very nice photos of my pages at Schloss Oberhausen:

There was also a nice, big catalogue:

München

Starting this Thursday, I'll be at Comicfestival München 2015, this year's biggest German comics convention. Here's some info about my presence at the festival:

Firstly, you'll be able to buy many of my comics at the JAZAM! table. This includes the brand-new JAZAM! Vol. X, the fairly new "Love & Monsters" (German & English editions), last year's "Hipsters" book, the second printing of "48 Stunden Angst", and many more (like older issues of JAZAM!). You can find us at booth 70 on the top floor (map).

Here's a photo of some of those newer comics:

I also contributed to an indie comic sticker album, which you'll be able to get at our table or from Comic Solidarity.

Then, there are the exhibitions. First, there's a JAZAM! exhibition at Café Kosmos, which I curated (I'm not showing any of my own stuff, though). On Thursday, there will be a big release party.
Then, there's a webcomics exhibition at Alte Kongresshalle (I think), which will include some Hipsters stuff.

Lastly, there are some comic readings. The first one's "Bitstorm - Worst of Weißworst" on Friday night, which is a "worst of" reading where I'll read a fun/bad German superhero comic I drew over ten years ago!
And finally, there's a big JAZAM! reading on Saturday around noon: "Best of JAZAM!". I'll be reading several comics there, including all of "Hipsters in Hell".

Come over and say hi!

Comicfestival München 2013

Starting tomorrow, I'll be at the Munich Comicfestival, having a great time and signing comics at the JAZAM! booth (AR33). Among the comics I'll be signing is the new volume of JAZAM!, for which I've contributed an illustration and done all of the editorial design, as usual. Here's our beautiful cover by Maike Plenzke:

Also at the JAZAM! booth, I'll be selling and signing "48 Stunden Angst," my new mini book containing both of my 24h comics. While you can already read one of them, Infiltrated, online in its entirety, the other one is all-new. Here are the first two pages:

If you're in Munich for the festival, you should also check out the A Tribute to Robert Crumb exhibition, which includes an illustration of mine.

Oh, and on thursday at 3:00 pm, I'll be part of a panel discussion about independent comics publishers at Altes Rathaus.

I hope to see you there! But if you can't make it to Munich this weekend, you can order both of the books at Kwimbi Webcomic Shop: order JAZAM! vol. 8 and order 48 Stunden Angst (both will be signed by me)

JAZAM! vol. 8 is also available at our own shop: JAZAM! shop

A Tribute to Robert Crumb

Alright... after teasing you for weeks, I'm finally going to show you my full illustration for "A Tribute to Robert Crumb," as it appears at the exhibition at Amerika Haus München and in the Edition 52 book that has just come out. Click on the cover (by none other than Charles freakin' Burns!) to buy the book at Amazon.de:

The book (& exhibition) contains a ton of amazing artwork and comix by some international stars and some of the finest German cartoonists. And little old me. So, without further ado, here's my contribution:

A Tribute to Robert Crumb - the exhibition

Starting tonight, you can see my Robert Crumb tribute illustration at Amerika Haus München. The vernissage will be tonight at 8pm (I've heard there's free wine!) and the exhibition will stay open for the next couple of weeks, all the way through Comicfestival München. Here's what my illustration looks like on the wall:
