Palms in Sorrow

This Sunday, I'm doing another Reading Panels comic reading in Dresden. This time, we're reading one of my favorite German comics, "Das UPgrade" by Sascha Wüstefeld and Ulf S. Graupner. In the comic, there's a fictional song called "Palms in Sorrow", which I recorded for the reading. Here it is:

The reading is on Sunday, October 9 at 7pm at Thalia Kino Dresden. Here's the Facebook event!

If you like this song, check out MY OTHER MUSIC!

Artjom Wessjoly

A little while ago, I got the very cool job to draw a realistic portrait of Russian poet Artjom Wessjoly for an upcoming new edition of his work at Aufbau Verlag. Here it is:

Backyard Shootout (2017, Fuck Yeah!)

Once again, I was asked to be part of Schloggers annual "Fuck Yeah!" calendar, which collects cool illustrations from many of Germany's finest cartoonists and illustrators (and me).

I tried a out a new technique with this sunny illustration for the first week of August:

Here's my sketch for it:

The calendar contains wonderful illustrations for every week of the year and this cool cover by Beetlebum:

Do you want one? Just shoot me an e-mail! (price: 20€ - free shipping inside Germany)

You can also pre-order a copy at Kwimbi (where you can also see some of the other illustrations).

Last-Minute Hero comic jam

Recently, I was flattered to be asked to participate in diedruckerei.de's new comic jam. It's a comic by 12 artists, which will be published on their blog and later printed as a calendar. The proceeds will be donated to charity.

Check out everything about the project here.

Here's my page (page 3 of 12):

You can find the 1st two pages by Schlogger and Johannes Lott at diedruckerei.de's blog. New pages will be added twice a week.

You can order the calendar with the complete comic jam RIGHT HERE.

It's a Match! (preview)

I recently drew a one-page comic for "Whoa! Comics," the newly-relaunched comic book anthology by German indie publisher Plem Plem Productions. It's basically a collection of 6 single-panel cartoons about monsters going on dates.

Here are the first 2 Panels:

CLICK HERE for some previews of the other comics and have a look at the cover of the issue by Mario Bühling right here:

It's coming out very soom and you can pre-order it now at the Plem Plem shop!

Dreck & Gold - episode 01

I have a podcast! A few days ago, David Koslowski and I recorded the premiere episode of "Dreck & Gold". On the podcast, we talk about movies, tv shows, comics, and other nerd stuff. It's all in German.

You can listen to it on Soundcloud and on iTunes. Please subscribe, rate & review!

Here's the cover image I drew for it:

We're probably gonna do one of these every week now.

The Bomb Technicians

I've published almost all of my JAZAM! comics on Tapastic, and now we're getting to the really old ones! This comic was first published in JAZAM! vol. 3 (topic: "Time") in 2008. Click on the first page to read the entire comic:

I have to admit that I don't like this one very much anymore, but maybe some of you are gonna find something to enjoy here?

You can buy the book right here: JAZAM! Shop

Over the next couple of months, I'm going to publish my remaining JAZAM! comics on Tapastic and here. Stay tuned!

Livestock

This comic first appeared in JAZAM! vol. 4 (topic: "Monsters") in 2009, and now I've colored the whole thing, translated it into English, and put it online for the first time ever!

Click on the first page to read it in English at Tapastic:

Or CLICK HERE to read it in German at MyComics.de

It's probably one of the most political (and cynical) comics I've done. How do you like it?

JAZAM! vol. 4 is no longer available, but you can get most of our other issues in our shop.

New game stuff

Over the past year, I've painted a couple of graphics for the browser-based strategy game "Aloha: Paradise Hotel". Here are a few of them:

You can play the game for free right here: PLAY ALOHA

Also, I recently made some item graphics for the current 2-year anniversary event of Angry Birds Epic:

They're still adding new content to that game, and I think it's really fun!

A House Divided

In Erlangen, Katja Klengel and I did a short comic reading for an event called "B1tst0rm", where artists were supposed to read some of their favortite webcomics (by other artists). We decided to read a A House Divided short story by Haiko Hörnig & Marius Pawlitza, a great fantasy comic that recently came out as a book. To spice things up, I drew this additional prologue using my Hipsters characters:

This is Katja & me reading the comic:

By the way, I also drew this piece of fan art for the comic's creators' recent birthdays:

Erlangen 2016

This week I'm going to Internationaler Comic-Salon Erlangen 2016, Germany's biggest, coolest, most important comic convention. You'll find me at the JAZAM! table (Halle B, Stand 38) most of the time.

At the following times I'm definitely signing books at our table:

Fri, May 27: 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM

Reading Panels

Next Sunday (May 22), there will be another one of our Reading Panels comic readings in Dresden. This time, we'll be reading "Hipsters in Hell" as well as several short comics by Katja Klengel, Tim Gaedke, and Matthias Lehmann. For the second time now, the reading will take place in a movie theater called Schauburg.

To promote the reading, we shot this trailer/short film, starring Katja Klengel, David Koslowski, and myself, and written by Katja & me:

The Facebook event has all the information you need.

JAZAM! vol. 11 - It's here!

The new JAZAM! book is finally finished!

You can order it now AT OUR SHOP or AT KWIMBI. All of Kwimbi's copies are signed by me & David Koslowski. Like this:

Naturally, we will also have them at our table at Comic-Salon Erlangen in three weeks, where you can get them signed by even more artists.

24HCD April 2016

Some cartoonist friends and I got together this weekend to do one of our two annual 24-hour comic marathons. Studio Fizbin graciously let us use their basement at Saftladen Berlin.

During the 24-hour period, I continued to work on a comic that I'd started at our last event in October 2015. I only got 12 pages done this time (a bit of a disappointment), but in total, I'm at 31 pages now! I'm still gonna need 20-ish more to finish the story, though.

Read my other 24h comics here at Tapastic!

Order Doodle

The Monster Doodle books are here and can be ordered at Kwimbi Webcomic Shop! I'm also going to have them at the JAZAM! table at ComicInvasionBerlin this weekend.

If you're making a Kwimbi order anyway, why not pre-order the new JAZAM!, too?
