This one-off strip is actually a guest comic for Christopher Tauber & Ingo Römling’s cool horror parody webcomic Survivor Girl (which you should totally check out), but I think it also works on its own.

I’m actually doing a Hipsters guest comic for another webcomic that I’m going to post here and there’s a possibility that I’m going to occasionally do stand-alone Hipsters strips if I get any good ideas. 

The reason I don’t want to continue with the regular Hipsters webcomic right now is simply that I feel there are only so many hipster jokes you can make, and I’ve probably made most of them a couple of times by now. Also, I want to try some new and different things. There’s a good chance that I’ll start either a new webcomic or a graphic novel project within the next couple of months, so please continue to follow this blog (+ my Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr, etc.) if you want to stay up-to-date about my future projects.

C'est Angoulême, bitches!

When a group of my friends and I went to the Festival International de la Bande Dessinée d'Angoulême in January, we spent a lot of our time there drawing an epic comic jam chronicling our experiences, enhanced by some fictional elements (massive monster cats, magical baguettes, the like). Because we really liked how the comic turned out, we reworked it a little bit, drew a nifty cover illustration, and made it into a cool little pamphlet, which we will be selling at ComicInvasionBerlin next weekend.

24h Comic Day 2014.1

Yesterday and today, I participated in my third 24h Comic Day event in Leipzig, once again producing 24 comic pages in less than 24 hours. (21h, to be precise.) I'll scan the story and clean it up once I'm done with JAZAM! and Hipsters, but here's a preview of the original pages:

Super Realtor

Back from Angoulême

I'm back from Angoulême and can happily report that it was pretty amazing. The festival is enormous - much bigger than any of the ones we have in Germany - and there were tons of cool exhibitions and parties. Even cooler, perhaps, was the group of webcartoonists I was travelling with.

We had a lot of fun drawing epic comicjams and drinking more canned beer than anyone ever should. Most of said comicjam can be found on the JAZAM! tumblr (click on the image):

When we weren't drinking our beer out of cans, we were paying for it with our Netzbildergeschichtenkünstlerpräsentationsheft-booklets, as Hillerkiller documented in this comic:

The way the French value comics is pretty amazing - especially if you're used to Germany, where few people take them seriously, and even the ones that do oftentimes don't actually read them. As I wrote on twitter:

Angoulême

In a few days, I'll be visiting the Festival International de la Bande Dessinée d'Angoulême, Europe's biggest comics convention, for the first time. I'll be travelling with a group of my comic-drawing friends, and we decided to make a little something we could show to our French peers, who aren't likely able to understand any of our German-language print publications. Each of us translated a short comic or several comic strips into French, which we collected as a 24-page pamphlet with the catchy name "Netzbildergeschichtenkünstlerpräsentationsheft" (cahier de présentation des artistes de BD en ligne) and this splendid collab cover:
